A time honored method of cladding residential and commercial buildings
Installation Options:
Full Brick – comes in a variety of colors and sizes. You choose depending on the look and style you want to project. We can work with you and your designer or architect to provide samples and pricing to fit your needs.
Full brick begins at the bottom of the wall at a base of either angle iron bolted into the concrete foundation, or a “brick ledge” poured at the time the foundation is formed. The base is engineered by a specialist certified in the field.
Full Brick is stacked in courses (one row across) separated by a bed of mortar that holds them together. Corrugated metal strips (brick ties) when nailed to the substrate (OSB, cinder block or concrete) and mortared into the concrete mortar bed hold the brick firmly to the building’s wall.
Thin Brick – has the same face dimension as full brick but is less than one inch thick. Thin brick veneer is an option to full brick. Most manufacturers make brick in both full and thin styles. Thin brick comes in a variety of colors for you to choose.
Thin brick is applied to the vertical substrate (OSB, concrete or cinder block) by sticking it to a scratch coat (a layer of cement trowelled into diamond lathe over a double-ply moisture barrier) with cement rather than stacking bricks one on top of another. Thin brick is firmly affixed to a scratch coat. The spaces between the brick are filled in with mortar squeezed out of a grout bag. The brick appears to have been set just like full brick.
Combining brick with stone or brick with stucco makes for a rich pallet of possibilities.
We will enjoy helping you with any combination you envision.
